The Human Body is comprised of 70% Water. For example, the brain is 74 %, theblood is 82% even the teeth have 5%. Water is critical for every single bodily function. It provides hydration and irrigation to trillions of cells. Water is necessary for the blood to flow, for oxygen delivery, for waste elimination, for nutrient transportation and for the functioning of almost every organ and biochemical process.
Waste Elimination
The world is a toxic playground, pesticides, carcinogens, heavy metals, antibiotics, growth hormones, preservatives, additives, etc. are consumed and inhaled on a constant basis every day by all the world’s citizens. Water our first and most powerful line of defense that we have in the battle to stay disease free and healthy. It helps the body flush or purge many of these dangerous toxins. Remember it is important to drink a pure mineral water that will not only provide the proper mechanism for this elimination process without further contributing to the problem but also provides additional minerals in a balanced format to support the body’s biochemical actions and cell repair.
Hydration and Disease
When a child is born they are generally considered to be hydrated at a level of 90% or greater. The average senior citizen age 65 or older is hydrated at an average of 55%. The link between hydrated cells and disease is well documented, in fact one Nobel Prize winning doctor has gone so far as to purport that life can exist indefinitely if the fluid surrounding cells is constantly renewed. He claims this surrounding fluid is what first degenerates and leads later to cell degeneration and that if the fluid is consistently renewed, the cell can live forever. An analogy would be a car that ran on the perfect engine oil and gas that would cause absolutely no friction and where the waste was nonexistent; there would be no reason for the working parts in the car to wear out and breakdown. The engine could run forever.
Eastern medicines and philosophies view the body as a harmonious balance of functions and energies. That disease occurs when an imbalance is present. Disease is believed to start on a small level and worsen with time as the imbalance slowly develops. Thus the idea is to simply put good nutrients in a body, support the body with plenty of water and oxygen and to emphasize proper elimination. This is the best preventive medicine from illness or disharmony. Minor ailments such as headaches, skin problem, indigestion, obesity are warning signs or what can later lead to more serious problems such as those that affect the heart or other organs including hypertension, cancer and other life threatening diseases. For example, drinking 5 glasses of water daily will decrease the risk of breast cancer by 79%, colon cancer by 45% and bladder cancer by 50%.
A common list of benefits from drinking the proper levels of an
excellent pure mineral water is as follows:
Water is also critical for proper weight loss. It is a tremendous assistance for people who are dieting because it suppresses one’s appetite, it has no calories, and it helps fat metabolization in the body. In fact, just one glass of water shuts down late night hunger pangs for almost all dieters. Water will also reduce the retention of fluid retention, reduce constipation, and help eliminate toxins and impurities from the body.
Higher Alkalinity in water is great for anti-aging. When water with a high pH balance is consumed it assists the body in maintaining its proper pH balance by helping neutralize acidic conditions that are present in most diets of the world.
Hydration Facts
Almost 90% of the world’s population is chronically dehydrated. In the United States this figure is still above 70%. Even dehydration at a level of 3% will significantly slow down one's metabolism and a low water level is considered the number one reason for daytime fatigue Incredibly, a 2% loss in body water can lead to short-term memory problems, difficulty computing basic math, and vision problems with reading print or computer screens.
Studies have shown that drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day could dramatically reduce back and joint pain for almost 80% of those who suffer from these problems. 2 out of 3 Americans drink fewer than the recommended 8 glasses of water a day. As temperatures rise, your body’s need for water increases. To avoid overheating and other problems, it is recommended to increase your intake by 2-3 glasses per day in higher heat and even more if one is sweating a great deal.
Cold Temperatures also require large amounts of water consumption as drier air, and hot beverages often enhance our needs for more water.
Women who are pregnant women need to drink extra water. They must take care of the needs of the fetus and for the extra fluid losses from additional perspiration and heat production. If a woman is lactating she needs extra water for fluid replacement from nursing.
Any beverage that contains alcohol or caffeine should not be counted toward your 8 glasses. This is because alcohol and caffeine will dehydrate your body, and you will need to compensate for their consumption. You should drink one extra glass of water for each glass of an alcoholic beverage and one extra glass for each cup of caffeinated coffee or tea that you drink.
You can sweat out more than a quart of water during a 60-minute workout. Dehydration can happen quickly. To prevent it you should drink 16 ounces of water two hours prior to exercising, then during your workout continue to sip four to six ounces every 20 minutes or so.
