THE victorious Nadi players will receive a $200 match bonus for retaining the prestigious Farebrother Sullivan Trophy against Suva last Saturday.

Nadi defeated Suva 24-14 in the final match of the series to be crowned as the undisputed champions of Fiji rugby.

Last month the Aqua Pacific sponsored Nadi Jet team defeated Nadroga 10-8 to lift the Digicel Cup.

Nadi Rugby Union president Sekove Tuilakeba said there is a lot of hype because of team's rare double feat.

He said the players were still celebrating.

"The Nadi Town Council is making arrangements for a civic reception this weekend," Tuilakeba said.

"We are receiving many congratulatory messages. The feeling is just great. Everyone is behind the team."

Nadi coach Iliesa Tanivula carved a bit of history himself, becoming the second person to lift the three major titles in a season.

Under Tanivula the Crusaders won the Colonial Cup beating the Knights in the final.

Tuilakeba said team sponsor Aqua Pacific has promised to pump in another $1500 bonus for the players. He said the NRU will release its celebration plans later this week.

"On Wednesday we will have an executive meting where a committee will be formed to look at the celebration plans," Tuilakeba said.

"We will hold an awards night where the players will be honoured. I wish to thank all the sponsors for Nadi rugby especially Aqua Pacific, KK's Hardware and M. Recht for their support.

"Also the loyal fans who have stuck with the Nadi side."

The Jets feat has come at a heavy expense with NRU has spending in excess of $110,000 this season.
